at your eventThe Irish Financial Services Regulatory Authority (Financial Regulator) is a statutory regulator charged with enforcing consumer protection regulation in the financial services sector and dealing with insurance companies, banks, building societies, intermediaries, stockbrokers, credit unions, asset managers and money lenders. Complaints in connection with credit unions can be routed through the Financial Regulator and addressed to the Registrar of Credit Unions. It has wide powers of investigation and complaints may be made against regulated firms measured against specific codes of conduct issued by the Financial Regulator. The Financial Regulator has a specific Director of Consumer Protection, which has a statutory responsibility to investigate consumer complaints.
